Role and Benefits of Country Coordinators
EECERA is to create a new role of EECERA Country Coordinators which will replace the previously appointed EECERA Regional Coordinators. The intention is to establish a network of EECERA members in each participating country which is led and coordinated by an EECERA appointed officer.
Aim:
The aim of the appointments is to:
- Increase the participation and activity of EECERA members in each participating country;
- Raise the visibility, status and impact of the EECERA in each participating country;
- To create a supported international network of EC researchers, practitioners and policy makers.
Role:
The role of the EECERA Country Coordinator is to:
- Promote and disseminate information about EECERA activities, annual conferences and the EECER Journal within their representing country;
- Collect and keep up to date a database of interested and active EC researchers, practitioners and policy makers within their country;
- To attempt to increase individual membership of EECERA and institutional subscription to the EECER Journal within their country;
- Support and encourage early childhood researchers, practitioners and policy makers to become active in EECERA at conferences and also through publication of their work in the journal;
- Support the development and activity of EECERA supported networks and Special Interest Groups within their country and help them to participate in the European EECERA community;
- Raise the visibility and urgency of developing high quality ECEC services within their country and internationally;
- Liaise with the EECERA Executive to act as a conduit for information and dissemination of knowledge about EC;
- Support the EECERA Executive and Trustees in the mission and work of the Association.
- Support the translations of the website into national languages when appropriate
Expectations:
EECERA Country Coordinators will be expected to:
- Be active in their role to meet the aims outlined above;
- Provide an annual activity report by 30th April each year which shows how they have carried out their role over the previous year and what success they have had in achieving the aims of this role for example;
- increased membership
- increased number of submissions for the journal
- increased attendance at the conferences
- Be accountable to the EECERA Trustee with regional responsibility for their country.
Benefits:
In return EECERA appointed Country Coordinators would receive free membership of EECERA for each year they are active and after a length of service (3 years) would be eligible for membership of the EECERA Electoral College.
