Setting up a Yahoo! group for your SIG

Starting a Yahoo! Group is a good way for you to keep in touch with other members of your SIG. It lets you exchange emails, share a calendar and upload documents and files in an easy and secure way.

Although a group should be set up by one of the SIG convenors, any member can be given the right to moderate or manage the group. Members can be added through the control panel, either directly or by sending out invitations to join the group.

Starting a group

Starting a Yahoo! Group is easy - all you need to do is go to the Start a Group page, sign in to Yahoo! and then follow the instructions. You will need a Yahoo! ID to join or start a group, but once the ID has been created you can edit the settings so that group messages are sent to your primary email address.

If you are running a Yahoo! Group for your SIG, please let us know and we can add a link from the relevant section on the current SIGs page.
