Webinar 1 – The New Normal: System Challenges

27 October

1pm – 2:30pm (GMT)

‘Corona Pandemic in the US Shapes New Normal for Young Children and Their Families’

This session will explore the challenges faced by governments as they respond to the Pandemic and set out actions that have been taken to support and adapt their early childhood systems in response to a ‘new normal’ for children and families and programmes. Illustrated by research from the USA, this session will take a look at the vital role of early childhood services at a time of crisis and how systems have responded to this ‘new normal’ through their engagement with families and the community, remote and hybrid early learning for pre-schoolers, the new roles of early educators and the protocols of scheduling their services that are in alignment with conditions of recovery, access to technology, and the overall capacity to manage and sustain quality.
