Short bio
Kristín Karlsdóttir (krika@hi.is) is an associate professor in Early Education at the School of Education, University of Iceland. Her teaching and research deals with children’s participation in play and learning, children’s agency and democracy in preschools, and the documentation of Learning Stories as an assessment method focusing on children’s perspectives and preschool teachers’ professional development. Kristín has been active in the Research Center in Early Education at the School of Education and has taken part in several action research projects. Currently she is working with colleagues on a research project in relation to pre- and primary school children’s experience of gender.
